16.02 D. Berlin
Calm before the storm (Well, maybe not that calm... no details). A day off in Berlin before the tour.
We went to Wild At Heart in Kreuzberg, Berlin, to watch Blisterhead who also hails from Sweden.
Not to many people there, but we had a blast and Blisterhead really impressed us all. Great show
B-Boys and thanx for free entré! In a couple of hours we're off to Tommyhaus for the premiergig!
We'll give you that story tomorrow! To be continued...
17.02. D. Berlin - Tommy Weissbecker Haus
First show on the tour. Quite a good start but a bit rusty. We met the oldest punkrocker we've
ever seen, now we're talking OLDschool! You can find him among the pictures below. Also met the
BlockBastards for the first time since that drinkingsession in Stockholm about a year ago.
They seem to be a good company. Right this moment we're in the bus (with the seatbealts
tight, cuz you know there are some crazy people on autobahn) on the way to Magdeburg
to meet with Mark Bandworm and once again prove that Vigilantes rocks!! Laters...
18.02. D. Magdeburg - Mikrokosmos
Back in Magdeburg once again, but not at the same place as last time though. Met with Mark
who was satisfied with the show. And just by a mere chance we met some friends of a friend
back home in Karlstad Sweden. About the gig then... The sound was crappy, but hey it's punk
so let's not make a big deal of that. The gig went along just fine. Twist and Shout, Over and out.
19.02. D. Torgau - Brückenkopf
Torgau is according to a lot of the people we met, the German capitol of punk. We were told that
the venue where build many hundred years ago and that it served as a prison during the second world
war. It was cold as hell (after it has frozen over that is) but the Vigs warmed up the place
really good. The night ended at a local pub even smaller than Näckrosen, Skoghall
(the beer was cheaper though).
20.02. CZ. Prag - Matrix
As soon as we crossed the border to Czech Republic we had to dodge and go slalom between all the
hookers runnin' down the main road. We had a tough time finding our way to the club but we
finally got there in time. The place was established in the sixties and survived the communist
regime, disguised as a studentpub. The gig was one of the best on the tour and the crowd was
amazing, beeing a sunday and all. We met some swedish girls on location for studies. Hej på er!
21.02. D. Chemnitz - Subway
This is a familiar place for us. The same hat-money-collection, same good food and same dangerous
garlic-schnapps. Heavy Holm from Heartbreaker, Holger the punkrocking hotel- manager (thanx for
the stay at your hotel the last time) and Sandro the Shoemakin' scheisswurst. As we remember
it was a great party at everybody's subway...
22.02. D. Nürnberg - KV
Last night with the gang. Three hours delay because of the terrible weather. BlockBastards got
on stage at 23.00 after them a German band called Adjudgement hit the stage and The Vigilantes
finished the night a couple of hours after midnight. A pretty lame place but the Vigs really did
the best show on the whole tour (also the most sober show). We left immidiatly after the
gig and had teh worst drive ever ahead... Snowstorm all the way, the autobahn has never been that
slow. When we came to Denmark and thought that the worst was behind, we got stuck in traffic due
to the snow-chaos and moved about 20 meters in 9 hours!! 37 hours after we left Nürnberg we saw
the citylights of our Karlstad. A big thank you to our new found friends in the BlockBastards!!!
We're a happy family!
23.02. D. Köln - Cancelled!
